As studio re.d, Kerstin Pfleger and Peter Paulhart develop simple and intelligent solutions for new and familiar objects. Products that have been reduced to their essentials in terms of function and aesthetics become comprehensible and thus fascinating for users.
The production of the chair played a central role in the design process from the very beginning. A reduced form was created, which helps to focus the view on the essentials and to get excited about the making of the ARRIVAL CHAIRS beyond the form. In this way, it is possible for the user*s to gain an understanding of the origin and functionality of the utility object.
Due to its design, the chair can be produced in different sized factories and the production can be decentralized. Such a small-scale and regional production structure makes sense not only ecologically, but also socio-economically.
